Beards shouldn't be an issue with uniforms, they should be allowed.
Consider Muslims, or Orthodox Jews.
I believe police officers should be clean shaven. It's a matter of professional appearance. Also, if a man has a full beard, it can be used against them if a criminal gets a handful of facial hair.
I think that it is absurd that such a rule is being enforced.
