Why worry if a cop has a beard? It''s not a big deal. Just let them grow a beard and live with it.

Consider Muslims, or Orthodox Jews.

I believe police officers should be clean shaven. It's a matter of professional appearance. Also, if a man has a full beard, it can be used against them if a criminal gets a handful of facial hair.

These officers were apparently demoted because of this, look at the article in the reference. I think that legal action should be pursued. .

If a police officer has a beard, it makes it hard to see what his facial expression is. I doubt that the rule is really enforced anyway. A lot of things are illegal in the south, but aren't really enforced. I guess you shouldn't become a police officer if you don't like the rules!
